Crypto Pivots Toward Machine-Centric Economy as AI Disrupts Traditional Finance
The financial system's human-centric design is becoming obsolete in the age of artificial intelligence. Banking hours, geographic restrictions, and physical identification requirements - all designed for human limitations - serve no purpose for AI agents that operate continuously across borders.
Nikil Viswanathan, CEO of blockchain infrastructure firm Alchemy, argues cryptocurrencies were built for this new era. "All transactions happen online and are inherently global. Crypto provides the global money infrastructure agents need," he states. The programmability of digital assets gives them unique advantages for machine-to-machine economies.
This shift represents more than technological change - it's a fundamental reimagining of financial participants. AI agents don't sleep, recognize borders, or visit bank branches. They require financial infrastructure as boundless as their operations.
